Banyana Star Confirms International Retirement

Banyana Banyana striker Jermaine Seoposenwe has confirmed her retirement from international football following the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, saying her dream has been fulfilled to play for the national team.
Seoposenwe, 32, a vocal advocate for challenges faced by women in the national team, has been a pivotal player for Banyana Banyana.
The 32-year-old was an integral part of the Banyana Banyana squad that made history in 2022, conquering the African continent by defeating Morocco to win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
As Banyana Banyana prepare to defend their title in Morocco this July, Seoposenwe will carry the hopes of many South Africans, especially after Thembi Kgatlana’s decision to withdraw from the tournament for personal reasons.
