Mvala Back In The Bafana Squad To Face Uganda and South Sudan
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced the final squad to face Uganda away and South Sudan at home in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Bafana will travel to Uganda to play at Mandela National Stadium on 15 November, before concluding the qualifiers four days later by hosting South Sudan at DHL Stadium.
The squad sees the return of Mothobi Mvala, who missed the September and October qualifiers due to an injury sustained while playing for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Siyabonga Ngezana, who was also absent from the October qualifiers due to an injury suffered while playing for FCSB in Romania, has also been recalled.
As expected, Themba Zwane is out due to an injury sustained during the October qualifier against Congo and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Mihlali Mayambela, who last represented Bafana in March during the FIFA Series, has also been included in the squad.
As expected, regular players like Ronwen Williams, Sipho Chaine, Khuliso Mudau, Teboho Mokoena, Oswin Appollis, Relebohile Mofokeng, Elias Mokwana, and Aubrey Modiba are all part of the team.
Bafana must secure maximum points in their opening match against group leaders Uganda to qualify for the AFCON finals in Morocco next year.
If they fail to do so, they will have a final chance to qualify at home against South Sudan at DHL Stadium in Cape Town four days later.
