Beganovic Confident In Galaxy Stars Despite Injury Knocks

TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic says he expects key youngsters Puso Dithejane and Seluleko Mahlambi to return fully fit next year after both players picked up minor knocks.
Both rising stars have been instrumental for Galaxy in the 2025/26 DStv Premiership season, with Dithejane’s impressive form earning him the Player of the Month award for November — his second of the campaign after also winning in August.
“We take great care of our players, and we understand what needs to be done physically during crucial moments,” Beganovic explained, whose side closed off the year with a draw against Kaizer Chiefs last Sunday.
“Puso picked up a small knock, and we didn’t want to risk losing him for a long period. If he rests now, he will be ready. I’m sure he’ll be ready for preseason later this month and start fresh with us. We can definitely count on him.”
“With Mahlambi, he also complained about a groin issue. As I said before, it’s not easy to defend constantly, track back, and still cover long distances during counter-attacks. He uses a lot of energy, so we wanted to bring in fresh legs. For me, names and age don’t matter — only what I see on the field and in training.”
TS Galaxy’s Preparations for the Second Round of the Season
Beganovic also outlined the club’s detailed preseason plan as they gear up for the second half of the campaign.
“I had a meeting with the chairman, and we agreed on everything regarding our preseason,” he said.
“We have two weeks completely off, then we start again on 22 December with seven days in the gym, using online programmes from our fitness coach. We return to the field on 29 December, giving us exactly four weeks before our match against AmaZulu on 25 January in Durban.”
According to Beganovic, this block of preparation will allow TS Galaxy to sharpen their performance:
“It’s not the start of a new season — we already have a full squad. Starting together on the same day helps us plan our positioning and conditioning properly for the four-week period. We want to get our players to peak physical levels, and some still need tactical improvement. It’s a tough job, but it depends on how quickly the players learn and understand.”
Beganovic added that squad depth will be one of their biggest strengths moving forward.
“We are fortunate to be using all 24 players on our roster. I’m very happy, and I’m never afraid to play young talents like Nkosi. I trust all our young players, and I believe we can produce many more in the future.”
