‘If It Were Easy, Anyone Could Do It’ – Chiefs Coach Snaps At Goal-Scoring Questions
Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef responded in an agitated manner when questioned about the club’s ongoing struggles to resolve their goal-scoring problems.
Amakhosi have averaged one goal per game in their last few games, and they managed to score 35 goals in 27 matches in all competitions since the start of the 2025/26 season.
When asked about the solutions to fix this problem affecting the club, Youseff responded, “Yeah, that is our job. Did you think that being a football coach is an easy job?
“If it were easy, anyone could have a job, and any team can score, and any team can win; that’s the difficulty in football.
“How you beat teams, that you can defend and concede goals, and then you make players score and create opportunities to score.
“For us, the most important thing is the performance of the team. When you perform, you create opportunities, and its model game, clear. That’s our job. But after that, it’s a lot of thinking,” Youseff added.
The frustration in the Chiefs camp follows a disappointing exit from the CAF Confederation Cup. Despite heading into the final stages as group leaders, Amakhosi crashed out of the tournament after a loss to Al Masry on Valentine’s Day.
Tuesday’s match against Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium represents a chance for a fresh start
“If it is like you say, that it’s our job, so it’s not easy like that,” he continued.
“Anyone can do the job; the solution is to continue to work in training sessions. If you have another solution, advise us.
“There’s another solution. What can you do? If you create an opportunity and you miss your chance, what can you do?”
