Ndah Might Face Chiefs On Tuesday

Stellenbosch coach Gavin Hunt could welcome defender Olisa Ndah back into contention when his side hosts Kaizer Chiefs in a Betway Premiership clash at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Ndah completed a surprise move to Stellenbosch last week following his exit from Orlando Pirates before the January transfer window closed.

However, the Nigerian international has yet to feature for Stellies as he awaits the issuance of his work permit from the Department of Home Affairs.

Hunt is hopeful the paperwork will be finalised in time, especially with his defensive options limited after Thabo Moloisane was sent off during the 1-0 Nedbank Cup round of 16 defeat to Golden Arrows at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.

“I hope he [Ndah] will be ready for us on Tuesday,” said Hunt. “Let’s see.”

Stellenbosch will also be without striker Wonderboy Makhubu, who is on loan from Sekhukhune United. Makhubu was sent off in last week’s midweek fixture against Magesi FC.

Moloisane’s dismissal marked the third consecutive red card for Stellies, following Asekho Tiwani’s sending-off against Singida Black Stars in a dead-rubber CAF Confederation Cup group-stage match last weekend.

Despite the disciplinary setbacks, Hunt dismissed suggestions of deeper issues within the squad.

“No, it’s not like that. It’s football,” Hunt said.

Later in the press conference, he highlighted the demanding schedule facing his team.

“We are playing Chiefs on Tuesday. They have played one match in 10 days; we have played four in eight days, including travelling to Congo.

“We just have to take it, move on and see what happens.”
