Hotto And Shalulile Headline Namibia Squad For AFCON Qualifiers
Namibia national team head coach Collin Benjamin has called up a 28-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers.
The Brave Warriors will face Cameroon and Kenya on the 13 and 19th of November. The Kenyan’s match on the 13 November will be played at Orlando Stadium in South Africa as Namibia was banned by CAF from hosting home matches due to stadium unavailability.
Namibia squad includes as many as nine players from( PSL) Betway Premiership including Dean Hotto and Peter Shalulile.
Cape Town City duo Prins Tjiueza and Aprocius Petrus were among the players called up. Other players from the Betway Premiership on the Namibia squad are Llyod Kazapua, Edward Maova, Riaan Hanamub, Elmo Kamindu, and Rewaldo Prins.
Bethuel Muzeu from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Black Leopards also called up. Namibia currently finds itself at the bottom of Group J, having lost all four qualifying matches and they cannot qualify with zero points after losing all four matches.
Cameroon is on top of the group with 10 points followed by Zimbabwe on eight and Kenya on four. A win for Zimbabwe in the next two matches this month will be enough for them to qualify in the AFCON finals that will take place in Morocco next year along with Cameroon.
