Saleng Joins Orbit College On Loan From Pirates

Orlando Pirates has confirmed that attacking midfielder Monnapule Saleng has left the club to join newly promoted side Orbit College for the upcoming season.
Saleng featured in eight matches across all competitions for the Buccaneers last season, with his final appearance coming in a CAF Champions League group stage match against Al Ahly in December.
Sportswire had previously reported that Saleng was unlikely to play for Pirates again and was expected to leave at the end of the past season due to an untenable situation at the club.
He did not participate in any matches during the second half of the season, as it was understood that Saleng had signed a pre-contract with another team in the league. This reportedly infuriated the club, as his contract was thought to be ending last season, but Pirates still held his rights due to a two-year renewal option.
“Orlandopiratesfc.com can also confirm that an agreement has been reached with Orbit College FC for the loan of Monnapule Saleng. The 27-year-old will spend the 2025/26 season with the newly crowned outfit,” read a statement from the club.
During his time at Pirates, Saleng won five trophies and made 103 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and providing nine assists.
Phillip Ndlondlo Also Departs Orlando Pirates
In related news, Orlando Pirates also confirmed the departure of midfielder Phillip Ndlondlo. Ndlondlo joined Pirates in 2022 from Marumo Gallants upon the expiration of his contract.
Ndlondlo also contributed to Pirates winning five trophies, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 65 matches across all competitions.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm the departure of midfielder Phillip Ndlondlo,” the club’s statement announced. “The 28-year-old is now free to sign with a club of his choice. Ndlondlo, who joined the Buccaneers in 2022, made a number of notable contributions during his time in the famous black and white.”
The club concluded, “The Club extends its sincere gratitude to Phillip for his professionalism and commitment during his spell at Orlando Pirates and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
