Hunt Jokes About Hotels As Durban City Face Two-Match Away Trip

Durban City coach Gavin Hunt has expressed his dislike for staying in hotels for too long as his team prepares for two away matches this week.

City is set to face Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday [19:30] and will remain in Limpopo to play Sekhukhune United at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

“It is difficult because we are there for the whole week,” Hunt said.

“Me and hotels are not the best friends. I hate those places. But we will dust ourselves off and go again.”

The newly promoted side has had a positive start to the season. They are currently fourth in the Betway Premiership table with seven points from three matches. The 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows last Tuesday was the first time they have conceded a goal.

Hunt, who felt his team deserved more from that game, said he would have gladly accepted seven points from the first three matches if he had been offered them at the start of the season.

“If you said it [seven points after three matches] at the beginning, we would have taken it, wouldn’t you?” he said.

“But we are going to try to get as many points as we can before we play against the big hitters, you know what I’m saying.

“But we will get better as well, there is no doubt about it. With players coming in, we are going to try to find a way. We got two tough games now. So, we move forward.”
