Travis Scott Throws Chiefs Out At FNB Stadium

Kaizer Chiefs appear to have been displaced from the FNB Stadium after the venue hosted American rapper Travis Scott’s concert this past weekend.
The stadium is believed to have sustained considerable wear and tear, as the stage setup on the field for the concert likely damaged the pitch. The grass surface is expected to take some time to recover and return to proper playing conditions.
As a result, Chiefs have confirmed that they will host their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round, second-leg match against AS Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on 26 October.
The first leg of the tie will take place this coming weekend in Kinshasa, with Chiefs already hard at work preparing for the clash.
“Kaizer Chiefs are gearing up for a crucial double-header in the second preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, with venues and dates now confirmed for their home and away fixtures against AS Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Amakhosi will travel to Lubumbashi for the first leg later this week,” the club said in a statement.
“The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 on Saturday, 18 October, at TP Mazembe Stadium. The return leg will be hosted at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Sunday, 26 October.
“With home advantage, Chiefs will look to secure their place in the group stages of this season’s competition.”
Chiefs advanced to the second preliminary round after edging Angolan side Kabuscorp 5–4 on penalties in the first round last month.
The winner between the two will reach the Confederation Cup group stages.
Amakhosi are currently led by caretaker coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef until the end of the season, following the recent departure of head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
