Sekhukhune Capture Former Bafana Midfielder

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Lebogang Phiri has been signed by Sekhukhune United, the club has confirmed.
Phiri, a product of Bidvest Wits, has been without a club since parting ways with French side Guingamp at the end of last season.
The 31-year-old enjoyed a lengthy spell at Danish club Brøndby IF, where he made 145 appearances, scoring nine goals and registering five assists.
Phiri has earned six caps for Bafana Bafana, scoring once in a 2021 international against Sudan at Orlando Stadium. He has also had stints in Turkey with Çaykur Rizespor and in France with Paris FC, who were promoted at the start of last season.
He joins a Sekhukhune United side that recently lost Miguel Timm, who completed a move to Cape Town City.
Phiri becomes the latest addition to Sekhukhune’s squad, joining Ivorian-born winger Amedé Tidiane Diomandé and Bradley Mojela as new signings.
Sekhukhune United, currently third on the Betway Premiership table, will resume their league campaign against Stellenbosch FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 20 January, following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations.
