Kaze Reacts To Lilepo Red Card After Shirt Celebration

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has expressed concern over Glody Lilepo removing his shirt during his goal celebration after scoring in their 1-0 victory over AmaZulu FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Lilepo’s strike was the only goal of the match and secured maximum points for Chiefs, taking their tally to 54 points after 29 league matches.
The Soweto giants now have just one match remaining before the end of the league season, against Chippa United at the same venue in Durban. However, Lilepo will miss that game due to suspension.
Although they failed to win silverware this campaign, Chiefs have secured qualification for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup and are also set to return to the MTN8 after missing out this season.
Kaze stressed that Lilepo needs to be more careful in future, although he acknowledged that the celebration came from the player’s passion and excitement.
“We need to be careful because he was already booked,” said Kaze on SuperSport TV.
“He took his shirt off while celebrating his goal, which means we’re going to miss him in the next match. Sometimes you understand the player’s passion. It’s good that we got the three points, but in future we have to be careful.”
Meanwhile, their Soweto rivals, Orlando Pirates, played to a goalless draw against Durban City at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
As a result, the league title will only be decided in Pirates’ final game of the season against Orbit College at Mbombela Stadium next weekend.
