Goss Signals Desire For Permanent Siwelele Stay

Siwelele goalkeeper Ricardo Goss has expressed his clear desire to remain with the club beyond the current season, emphasizing that regular playing time remains his absolute priority.
Chasing Consistent Minutes Away from Chloorkop
The Bafana Bafana international has spent the last four seasons away from parent club Mamelodi Sundowns. His extended loan spells include three productive years at SuperSport United before he anchored himself as the first-choice shot-stopper at Siwelele this campaign.
Securing the starting gloves at Sundowns remains a massive hurdle for any keeper, given that South Africa’s number one, Ronwen Williams, firmly blocks the path to the starting line-up. At Siwelele, however, Goss has flourished with consistent minutes.
“I think I’d like to come back to Siwelele,” said Goss.
“They’ve really treated me well here. Not to say I wasn’t treated well at Sundowns, but every footballer wants to be on the pitch. You want to be the team’s number one, play week in and week out, and set goals for yourself during the season. But let’s see how it goes.”
Feeling the Love in a Family Environment
The shot-stopper highlighted the strong emotional connection he has built with the club’s staff and fanbase since his arrival.
“I’m really enjoying it here. Like I said, I feel loved. It’s like a family here, and they welcomed me warmly. Let’s see how things go, but I’m happy to be here,” said Goss.
“Obviously, once the season ends and my second loan spell is over, I have to return and report back to Sundowns. The management teams will then discuss what’s going to happen and where I will play next. But for now, we’ll see how it goes.”
Who Holds the Cards in Ricardo Goss’ Transfer Talks?
Despite his personal preferences, the goalkeeper acknowledges that the final decision rests primarily with the reigning Betway Premiership champions.
What was Ricardo Goss’ Reaction to the Sundowns Contract Situation?
Goss understands that his parent club commands the negotiating table, though he intends to make his sporting desires known during the upcoming winter window.
“Obviously, Sundowns have the biggest say. I can only express what I want, where I’d like to be, and how much game time I want. After that, it depends on what they decide, and we’ll take it from there,” he said.
