Will Ben Youssef And Kaze Stay After Top-Three Finish?

Kaizer Chiefs are set to make a major decision regarding the future of co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze after the duo successfully achieved one of the key targets set for them by the club this season.

Ben Youssef and Kaze joined Amakhosi at the start of the 2024/25 campaign as assistant coaches to Nasreddine Nabi and played an important role in helping the Phefeni Glamour Boys end their 10-year trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup.

Following Nabi’s departure by mutual agreement in October last year, Chiefs placed their trust in the pair by appointing them as co-coaches for the remainder of the season.

According to information gathered by Sportswire, the duo was tasked with leading Amakhosi to at least one trophy from the Carling Knockout, Nedbank Cup, CAF Confederation Cup, or the Betway Premiership. Should they fail to win silverware, they were expected to guide the club to a top-three league finish.

The two coaches have now achieved one of those objectives after guiding Chiefs to a top-three finish in the Betway Premiership, securing the club’s return to continental football next season.

Despite meeting the target set by the club, the representatives of Ben Youssef and Kaze are still waiting for official communication from Amakhosi regarding discussions over the future of the co-coaches.

Chiefs are currently third on the table with 54 points from 29 matches and still have one final fixture remaining against Chippa United on Saturday. Regardless of the result of that encounter, Amakhosi are guaranteed to finish the season in third place.
