Former Chiefs Winger Rewards Siwelele With Long-Term Future Commitment

Sportswire has exclusively learned that Siwelele have renewed the contract of former Kaizer Chiefs winger Tebogo Potsane ahead of the highly anticipated 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign.

The 32-year-old originally joined the Bloemfontein-based outfit on a short-term, one-year deal last season. He arrived as a free agent after parting ways with Chiefs, where he had severely struggled to secure regular game time at Naturena.

Potsane enjoyed a sensational renaissance in his first year with the club, becoming one of Lehlohonolo Seema’s most productive attackers by scoring three goals and registering four assists in 22 league appearances.

Poetically, his standout moment of the campaign arrived in April when he netted a crucial goal against his former employers, anchoring Siwelele to a famous 2-0 victory over Amakhosi.

Siwelele, who successfully acquired the top-flight status of SuperSport United ahead of last season to bring elite football back to Bloemfontein, finished 10th in the Betway Premiership standings with 37 points.

Following his influential performances on the pitch, Sportswire has been reliably informed that Potsane has signed a new two-year contract extension. This fresh commitment secures his services in the Free State until June 2028.

The experienced winger will now turn his focus toward helping Siwelele secure an elusive top-eight finish after they fell just short last term.

With his long-term future settled, Potsane also targets knockout silverware, aiming to hoist at least one major trophy during his extended stay in Bloemfontein.
