Missed Out On MTN8 Final Tickets? eThekwini Launches Massive Beachfront Fan Park

Football supporters unable to secure tickets for Saturday’s sold-out MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns can catch the action live at the Bay of Plenty Public Viewing Area (PVA).
Tickets for the high-stakes clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium sold out within hours of release on Tuesday. In response, the eThekwini Municipality has organized a free, family-friendly fan zone along the Marine Parade to accommodate thousands of supporters while boosting local economic activity.
The Bay of Plenty venue will accommodate up to 5,000 spectators, with gates opening at 12:00 PM ahead of the 6:00 PM kick-off. The event will run until 10:00 PM.
Free entry includes a full line-up of live music and entertainment featuring DJ Happygal, DJ Cyndo, DJ Q, Feza, Jumbo, Cebza, and Ntencane.
“The MTN8 Final is an exciting occasion for football fans, and we want supporters to experience the energy and excitement of this major sporting event in a safe and welcoming environment,” said Dr. Zakhi Mkhize, Director of Commercial Sports. “The Public Viewing Area at the Bay of Plenty will provide an opportunity for fans to come together, enjoy the match, and experience live entertainment in a vibrant setting.”
City officials have urged fans attending the beachfront fan zone to arrive early and cooperate with security personnel to ensure a safe environment.
