Beach Blitz Crowned 2026 KZN Premier’s Netball Cup Champions

A thrilling rematch of last year’s final delivered a different ending as Beach Blitz were crowned champions of the 2026 KZN Premier’s Netball Cup, held from 19–22 February at the Manguzi Multi-Purpose Centre in KwaMhlabuyalingana.
In a highly anticipated showdown, Beach Blitz defeated Inkosi All Stars 47–33 to claim the provincial crown. The eThekwini-based side showed composure, precision, and hunger to overturn last year’s result and etch their name on the trophy.
Inkosi All Stars from King Cetshwayo once again proved their pedigree by reaching the final, while Harrycains (Harry Gwala) and Vigilant Eagles (Zululand) completed the top four after competitive semi-final clashes. Harrycains secured the bronze medal, and Vigilant Eagles impressed throughout the tournament, winning all their pool matches and showcasing significant growth from last season.
The closing ceremony was graced by KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Honourable Mntomuhle Khawula, who emphasized the importance of unity and continued investment in netball development. He highlighted the significance of the tournament in preparing players to represent the province at the upcoming Telkom Netball League.
The Cllr. Mayor Khumalo of Umhlabuyalingana expressed pride in hosting the prestigious event and reaffirmed the district’s commitment to supporting future editions.
President of the KwaZulu-Natal Netball Federation, Mrs. Gugu Ngema, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Office of the Premier, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Umkhanyakude District Municipality, aQuellé, and all stakeholders who contributed to the tournament’s success.

The tournament also served as a selection platform for the provincial squad to compete in the upcoming Telkom Netball League. The preliminary squad was announced during the closing ceremony, with the final team to be confirmed in due course.
