Boks Vs All Blacks Test Will Have A Flyover
The highly anticipated Springboks vs. All Blacks test match will have an extra special element to commemorate the occasion.
Emirates, the sponsor of Ellis Park, will conduct a flyover before the game at Emirates Airline Park Stadium on Saturday (17:00). The flyover will evoke memories of the 1995 World Cup final at the same venue, where the two teams faced off in the famous drop-goal victory by Joel Stranski.
“Emirates will be performing the first-ever A380 flypast in South Africa this Saturday, over the Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg,” said the statement in position of Sportswire.
“Timed to soar over the stadium just before the kick-off of the Springboks vs All Blacks test match, opportunities for media and the public to spot the aircraft will be approximately between 4pm and 6pm (local South Africa time) across different vantage points between O.R Tambo International Airport and the Emirates Airline Park, New Doornfontein, Johannesburg.
“While Emirates encourages the public to take photos and videos of the air display, people are reminded not to put the formation flight at risk by using drones and to comply with all South Africa Civil Aviation Authority guidelines pertaining to ‘no fly zones’ for unmanned aircraft/drones.”
The Springboks will aim for their third consecutive victory over the All Blacks, having defeated them in the World Cup final last year and in a pre-World Cup warm-up match at Twickenham Stadium which was a record victory for the back-to-back World Cup champions.
