Casric Stars Continue To Shine As Cape Town City Struggles In The MFC

The Motsepe Foundation Championship was in full swing this weekend, with matchday two action bringing a mix of victories and losses across the board.
Casric Stars stood out as the only team to win their first two games, following a 1-0 victory against Milford on Friday. This win has seen Casric Stars sit comfortably at the top of the log with six points, while Milford are in eighth position with three points.
On the other hand, City’s struggles continued as they played out a 1-1 draw against Hungry Lions on Saturday away from home. This result leaves City in 13th position with two points, while Hungry Lions are in 14th place with one point.
Other notable results this weekend included Baroka’s 3-0 thrashing of Midlands Wanderers, while Gomora suffered a 2-1 loss to Venda. Kruger United and Highbury played out a 1-1 draw, and Leicesterford City secured a 1-0 win over Upington City.
In Sunday’s action, Black Leopards continued their struggles with a 2-2 draw against University of Pretoria, leaving them at the bottom of the log. Lerumo Lions picked up a 2-1 win over The Bees at home.
The Motsepe Foundation Championship will now take a break due to the FIFA international break, with the next round of matches scheduled for September 13.
The highlight of the upcoming fixtures will be Cape Town City’s home match against league leaders Casric Stars, which promises to be an exciting encounter. City will be looking to find their first win of the season, while Casric Stars will aim to continue their winning ways.
