Chiefs Unfazed By New Technical Team’s Lack Of Club Experience

Kaizer Chiefs’ marketing manager, Jessica Motaung, assures fans that the lack of club playing experience among the new technical team shouldn’t be a concern.

Following a disastrous 10th-place finish in the DStv Premiership last season, Amakhosi has ushered in a new era under recently appointed coach Nasreddine Nabi. Nabi comes with a fresh technical team, marking a significant shift for the club.

This decision follows the team’s worst-ever finish in the PSL, prompting a return to the “drawing board” with the hope of reviving the fortunes of South Africa’s most beloved club.

“There’s a collaboration and integration happening behind the scenes to maintain our DNA,” explains Jessica Motaung. “Bringing in new people is simply taking it to the next level. We won’t lose sight of our identity. In fact, the new coaches will benefit from understanding our systems through collaboration with the existing junior and other coaches.”

Motaung expresses her excitement for the new direction and commends the work of the sporting director, football manager, and the entire team involved in the extensive coaching selection process.

“People need to understand that this wasn’t a hasty decision,” she emphasizes. “We conducted a thorough worldwide search, and we’re confident we’ve made the right choice. The team has our full support, and the entire Amakhosi faithful will be behind them as we strive for collective success.”

While Chiefs haven’t announced any new signings yet, they have released some players following last season’s struggles. However, rumors suggest the signing of former Orlando Pirates player, Bongani Sam.

Motaung explains the delay in signings: “We need to give the coach and his new technical team time to settle in. While work has been done behind the scenes, it makes sense for the coach to be involved in the decision-making process. Announcements regarding new signings will come soon.”
