Dion Wins Golden Boot

Golden Arrows striker Junior Dion has clinched the PSL Golden Shoe award after finishing the season as the league’s top scorer with 14 goals.
The Ivory Coast striker was guaranteed to end the campaign with the Golden Boot after outscoring his closest rival, Iqraam Rayners, who finished on 12 goals.
However, the Mamelodi Sundowns striker had already completed his league campaign, with his club travelling to Morocco for the second leg of the CAF Champions League final against FAR Rabat on Sunday.
Another player who still had an outside chance of clinching the Golden Shoe was Relebohile Mofokeng of Orlando Pirates, who finished the season on 10 goals.
He was level with Rayners’ Sundowns teammate, Brayan Leon.
But Leon, like Rayners, had already completed his league fixtures and travelled with Sundowns to Morocco for the Champions League final.
Mofokeng was unable to add to his tally in Pirates’ final match of the season, which saw them clinch the league title after Orbit College scored two own goals in Saturday’s season finale.
Meanwhile, Dion also failed to get on the scoresheet in Arrows’ final game of the season as they played to a draw against TS Galaxy at home, finishing sixth on the table with 41 points from 30 matches.
Dion becomes only the second Arrows player to win the PSL Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot since the late Richards Hanyekane achieved the feat during the 2008/09 season.
