Gallants Deny Ouaddou Resignation

Marumo Gallants has released a curious statement claiming the club has not received a formal resignation letter from coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, despite the coach’s public announcement of his departure.

The Moroccan coach confirmed his resignation on social media following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, during which he guided Gallants to a 10th-place finish in the Betway Premiership table.

Ouaddou took the helm at a challenging time for Gallants, arriving after the club had sacked Dan Malesela and was facing the threat of relegation. The former AS Vita Club coach was in charge for 12 matches, securing five wins, four draws, and three losses. He also led Gallants to the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup, where they were ultimately defeated by Orlando Pirates.

“Marumo Gallants Football Club wishes to clarify recent speculation concerning the status of Head Coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou,” the club stated in their press release.

“The club can confirm that it has not received any formal communication or notice of resignation from coach Ouaddou. In light of this, we will not be making any further comments on the unverified reports currently in circulation. We thank the media and our supporters for their understanding.”
