Nabi: We Still Have A Lot Of Work To Do

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says his team is on the right path and they are not yet where they want to be.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys currently lying sixth with 25 points after 17 games in the Betway Premiership.

Nabi’s side also advanced to the quarterfinal of the Nedbank Cup following their 3-0 victory against Chippa United on Saturday evening. Nabi expressed his thoughts about his team after their win to Chippa United saying they are still ‘cooking.’

“I will say that we still have a lot of work to do, a long walk to go through,” the Tunisian tactician said.

“I don’t believe that we are even in a half of a team that we dream of for Kaizer Chiefs. But the biggest thing is that we are in the right direction, the players understand what they need to do and we feel that they are coming together.”

Meanwhile, Amakhosi announced the departure of the Botswanan defender Thatayaone Dithlokwe during the week who has joined the Libyan giant Al Ittihad. Nabi sends a special message to his former player wishing the captain of the Zebras all the best with his new team.

“For TT [Thatayaone Dithlokwe], all the best for the new venture. I think he is a lovely guy, very professional guy and I think he has given his all for Kaizer Chiefs,” the former Espérance Sportive de Tunis coach added.

“This is a good opportunity for him, for his life, family, and for Kaizer Chiefs. Everyone at Chiefs is happy for him and this is a great opportunity for him.”

The former SuperSport United defender played 31 games in all competitions for Amakhosi since the 2023/24 season. Dithlokwe managed to have at least two assists under his name at Naturena even though he is a defender.
