Nange Set For Gallants Exit

Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange is set to leave Marumo Gallants upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the month, Sportswire has established.

The dynamic midfielder signed for the Bloemfontein-based outfit on a free transfer from the Tshwane side at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign, putting pen to paper on a one-year deal, in a bid to revive his career.

However, Nange’s stay with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa didn’t go according to plan as he struggled to establish himself in the starting XI under both coach Dan Malesela and Abdeslam Ouaddou, who has since claimed his working relationship with the club has come to an end due to a contractual dispute.

The 33-year-old Limpopo-born star made 13 appearances across all competitions for the club, with 10 of the matches coming in the Betway Premiership, where he managed to score a solitary goal in a 3-1 win over Magesi FC in December last year.

Sportswire can confirm that there have been no talks over a potential new deal between the two parties at this stage, with Gallants yet to approach the player for an extension on his current deal set to run until 30 June 2025.

This publication understands that several top-flight clubs have made contact with the player’s camp to hold exploratory talks in a bid to facilitate a possible move ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 PSL Campaign.

Limpopo outfit Magesi, who impressively survived the axe to the Motsepe Foundation Championship after a 13th-place finish in the topflight last season, are believed to be one of the keen admirers of the experienced midfielder’s services.

Moreover, Chippa United retain a long-standing interest in Nange after missing out on the player’s signature during his days at Black Leopards. The Gqeberha club is set for an exodus of departures in the midfield department, with Sinethemba Badela having taken over the reins.
