Pirates Target Crucial Three Points Against Gallants

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has shared the importance of collecting three points in their Betway Premiership clash against Marumo Gallants at Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday.

Pirates are having an excellent run in the league, sitting at the top of the table with 35 points from 15 matches. A victory in their next game would see them open up a six-point lead over second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, the defending champions.

Meanwhile, Gallants currently find themselves in the relegation zone, lying in 13th place with just 15 points after 17 games.

In their last league meeting, the Soweto Giants succumbed to Bahlabane Ba Ntwa by 2-1 in August. Pirates also defeated Gallants in the Carling Knockout Cup final in November.

“It’s one of the most sophisticated, tactically Marumo Gallants,” said Ncikazi.

“We don’t have to look at the position; we have to look at how they set up their team. While we have to impose how we want to play, we need to get points, and that’s the preparation.

“Playing a team that we’re playing tomorrow based on how they are going to set up their team, and we just have to fight for points,” Ncikazi added.
