Pitso Confirms Fabisch Injury Setback

Golden Arrows coach Pitso Dladla has confirmed that it will be some time before Jonah Fabisch makes his debut for the club after suffering an injury in training.

Fabisch is yet to feature for Abafana Bes’Thende this season, despite the club having already played seven matches across all competitions.

The Zimbabwean international midfielder joined Arrows after arriving in South Africa on July 22, with several Betway Premiership clubs reportedly interested in his services following his departure from German 3. Liga side Erzgebirge Aue.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a productive campaign in Germany last season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 30 appearances for Erzgebirge Aue before ultimately deciding to continue his career in South Africa with Golden Arrows.

However, Fabisch has since suffered a minor injury in training, delaying his long-awaited debut for Dladla’s side. The Arrows coach confirmed that the midfielder is currently receiving treatment from the club’s medical team.

“Yeah, for now he is with our medical team,” Dladla said.

“The boy just sustained a minor injury at training. The medical team is working on him to recover.”

Fabisch’s absence comes as Golden Arrows are already dealing with another injury setback involving captain Ayanda Jiyane. The former Royal AM defender has been sidelined with a quad muscle injury and has not featured since playing in Arrows’ opening league match against Chippa United.

With both Fabisch and Jiyane unavailable, Dladla will hope the club’s medical team can help the players recover soon as Abafana Bes’Thende continue their campaign.

Fabisch’s eventual return will be particularly anticipated by Arrows supporters, who are still waiting to see the Zimbabwean midfielder in competitive action since his arrival at the club.
