SA Coach Lands A New Job In Zimbabwe
Highlanders have appointed South African coach Thabo Senong as their new head coach, in a move aimed at boosting the team’s performance.
Senong, a seasoned coach with a wealth of experience, has previously worked with the senior and junior national teams of South Africa and Lesotho and led Amajita to victory in the U20 COSAFA Cup in 2013.
Senong’s appointment has been met with excitement, given his impressive track record and familiarity with the region.
The experience of the former Amajita mentor extends beyond coaching, having worked as an analyst at SABC Sport, where he appeared on popular shows like Soccer Zone alongside Doctor Khumalo and Hlompho Kekana.
The South African mentor will work closely with Mkhokheli Dube, a legend of the Highlanders, to drive the club’s success.
The Bosso is expected to make further announcements regarding additional coaching staff and player signings in the coming weeks.
“Highlanders Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Thabo Senong as the club’s new Head Coach, alongside the return of Dube as Assistant Coach,” the club said in a statement.
“On behalf of the entire Highlanders FC family, the club warmly welcomes Coaches Thabo Senong and Mkhokheli Dube, and wishes them every success in their roles. Further additions to the Technical team and playing staff will be announced in due course.”
The club’s decision to appoint Senong is seen as a bold move, given his experience and expertise, and expectations are high for the team to deliver results.
