Duba: Hard Work Pays Off

Despite Kaizer Chiefs’ inconsistent form this season, Amakhosi rising star Wandile Duba has revealed the key to his consistent scoring: a grounded approach.

Duba has been a shining light under coach Nasreddine Nabi, recently scoring twice as Chiefs rallied to defeat Stellenbosch at FNB Stadium. He also provided a crucial assist in Chiefs’ season opener against Marumo Gallants, setting up Mfundo Vilakazi for a goal.

Since then, the Chiefs academy graduate has been a regular starter. However, Amakhosi’s performance has been inconsistent, culminating in a recent loss to Golden Arrows.

“Since I’m doing well as I’m scoring goals but the team is not doing, I think in every game I tell myself that I’m going to give my all,” Duba explained.

“Even though the team is not doing well for me I give my all, and after the game, they send us the analysis of the game then I check where should I fix it so that in the next game I will do well.”

Duba further revealed that he engages in extra training sessions alongside Mdu Shabalala and Samkelo Zwane to maintain their high level of performance. Shabalala has netted four goals in the Betway Premiership this season, while Zwane is yet to find the back of the net.

“I do extra training alongside Shabba and Zwane, and there’s a guy who trains us in Randburg. We train a lot just to keep ourselves very busy,” Duba revealed. ,” Duba disclosed.

The Chiefs trio will be eager to add to their goal tallies as Amakhosi face Sekhukhune United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday (15:30).
