Sundowns vs. Pyramids’ Champions League Final First Leg Tickets Sold Out!
Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that tickets for their CAF Champions League first-leg final against Pyramids FC have sold out.
The Brazilians, still celebrating their recent league title win on Wednesday, will host the Egyptian side at Loftus Versfeld Stadium next weekend.
The second leg of the final is scheduled to take place at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in Cairo on 1 June.
This will be Mamelodi Sundowns’ third appearance in the CAF Champions League final. They previously lost to Al Ahly in 2001 before triumphing in the competition in 2016. This final appearance marks their first since that victorious year.
Sundowns reached this stage by defeating Al Ahly on away goals, while Pyramids FC overcame Orlando Pirates 3-2 on aggregate in their semi-final.
Pyramids FC are making their debut appearance in the CAF Champions League final, a historic achievement for the club, as reaching the knockout stages was also a first for them.
The last South African club to reach the CAF Champions League final was Kaizer Chiefs in 2021, where they were defeated by Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly.
