Ouaddou Satisfied With Spain’s Pre-Season Camp

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance after they ended their preseason tour with a 2-0 victory over Granada on Saturday evening at the Marbella Football Center in Spain. 

Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng scored the goals that sealed the win for the Buccaneers. The victory marked a positive end to the team’s preseason tour in Spain, where they played four games, winning one, drawing two, and losing one.

Ouaddou praised his players for their effort and confidence, saying, “I have all the time to trust my players, and I trust in all myself to give them confidence to play, to train good, to give the effort, and to stay united.”

The win, according to Ouaddou, will boost the team’s confidence and morale.

“Yes, we finished this tour with a victory, and I think it’s good because it helps the guys in terms of confidence to end with a victory,” said the former Fulham defender.

“For me, I think what we saw here in terms of how we create chances is a positive thing, and we’re going to give the rest to the players.”

With the preseason tour behind them, Pirates are now set to return home and prepare for their first official game of the season, the MTN8 Cup quarterfinal against Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium on 2 August.

This will be Ouaddou’s first official game as coach of the Soweto giants, and he is eager to get started.

“Another thing, we can’t wait to go back to Johannesburg to play in front of our fans because they want to see this team,” he added.
