SA Coach Bolsters Lesotho’s Technical Team Ahead Of Bafana WC Qualifier

In a significant development for Lesotho’s national football team, Likuena, they have roped in a South African coach.

Upington City coach Abram Mongoya has joined the team’s technical staff for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Sportswire has learned.

Mongoya’s expertise will be invaluable as Likuena takes on crucial matches against top-tier opponents.

Mongoya’s appointment comes at a critical time, with Likuena set to face Bafana Bafana in their first match next Friday, followed by a trip to Benin to take on the Benin national team on 9 September.

The team’s World Cup qualifier campaign will conclude in October with matches against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

With his vast experience in coaching various teams, including Bantu Football, Chippa United (as assistant coach), Acornbush United (as assistant coach), and Tuks Academy U15, Mongoya is well-equipped to contribute to Likuena’s success.

Before joining Upington City during the off-season, Mongoya guided Kruger United to a respectable fifth-place finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.

Mongoya’s tenure with Likuena will extend beyond the World Cup qualifiers, as he will also be available for international friendly matches in November.
