Zitha Ready For Sekhukhune Test

Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika has stated that playing against Sekhukhune United, who consist of seasoned players, will be a test to prove that they are ready to challenge for the Betway Premiership league.

Both Chiefs and Sekhukhune have secured the same amount of points since the start of the 2025/26 season, which is 13 points after five games, with Sekhukhune sitting in second place while Chiefs occupy the third spot.

Kwinika has commended Sekhukhune, highlighting that they are currently one of the best teams in the league; therefore, playing against them will be a test to prove if they are prepared to compete.

“I think that is one of the good teams in the league,” said Kwinika.

“We respect that, taking into account, as you’ve mentioned, the experience they have, the quality players they have, so it’s up to us to take it. For us to do well is for us to compete with such players, such individuals, people who have been in the league.

“So it is a good task for us to really show we are up for this,” the skipper added.

Chiefs have had a strong start this season, keeping five clean sheets by winning four games and having one goalless draw.

Kwinika has expressed the importance of securing points at home as they look to host Sekhukhune at FNB Stadium this Tuesday.

“It’s very important. I think this season, that is the other objective to try and get as many points as we can at home because we feel like this is our home, this is where when people come they must not get it easy,” Kwinika stated.

“So it’s very important, I think it gives us motivation also just to keep going and get points at home because away it is a bit difficult, so when we are home we must use that advantage.”
