Natal Rich Boyz Target Top Eight Push

Richards Bay co-coach Ronnie Gabriel wants the Natal Rich Boyz to sign off their home campaign on a high note when they host Sekhukhune United at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex this Saturday.
While a Top Eight finish isn’t yet guaranteed, Richards Bay has turned their home ground into a fortress this season, suffering only a single defeat in front of their KZN faithful.
Currently 11th in the Betway Premiership with 33 points, a victory on Saturday—combined with favorable results elsewhere—could catapult the club to ninth, within striking distance of the elite bracket.
“This being the last home game of the season, we are looking forward to achieving a positive result at home,” Gabriel told the club’s website.
“We are unbeaten in our last six games, and we intend to maintain that record until the end of the season. This is an ideal opportunity for us to repay the supporters for all the faith they have shown in the team throughout the campaign.”
The history books are on their side; last term, the Rich Boyz secured a Top Eight spot in a dramatic final-day surge against SuperSport United away. Following the Sekhukhune clash, they travel to Seshego Stadium to face bottom-of-the-log Magesi on 23 May.
The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw, a match defined by a Tsepo Mabua own goal and a strike from the now-injured Gabadinho Mhango. Gabriel, however, insists the current mood in the camp is at an all-time high.
“The team is in good spirits,” Gabriel added.
“The mood in camp is positive, we prepared well this week, and we are looking forward to an exciting encounter against a strong Sekhukhune side.
“As I said, this is our home ground, and it presents an opportunity to collect all three points, which is exactly what we are aiming to do on Saturday. We are also looking forward to strong support from our fans.
“Come in numbers, come and support us, come and help push the boys over the line. We truly appreciate the support we have received at home throughout the season.”
