Lee Kang-in & Son Heung-min Named To Face Bafana Bafana

Bafana Bafana are set for a huge and demanding test after South Korea announced a strong squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which could feature two-time UEFA Champions League winner Lee Kang-in.
Lee Kang-in, a highly talented winger known for cutting inside and unleashing powerful shots, could face Bafana Bafana with a second UEFA Champions League winners’ medal around his neck.
His club, Paris Saint-Germain, will look to defend their Champions League crown when they face Arsenal in the final at Puskás Aréna on 30 May.
Lee, who has already won the Ligue 1 title with PSG this season, is joined in the South Korean squad by former Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min in the 26-man squad for the World Cup.
The Koreans have also included Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae, Mainz 05 midfielder Lee Jae-sung, and Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-chan.
The Asian side, ranked 25th in the world, are in Group A alongside Hugo Broos’ South Africa, hosts Mexico, and Czech Republic.
South Korea will face Bafana Bafana on 25 June at Estadio BBVA after opening their group-stage campaign against the Czech Republic on 12 June at Estadio Akron.
They will then take on Mexico at the same venue on 19 June before concluding their group-stage fixtures against South Africa six days later in what will be the first-ever meeting between the two nations.
