No Favours! Bay Ready To Kill Magesi FC’s Relegation Survival Hopes

Richards Bay co-coach Ronnie Gabriel declares his side will fight to extend their seven-match unbeaten streak when they visit relegation-threatened Magesi in Saturday’s high-stakes Betway Premiership season finale.

Protecting the Natal Rich Boys’ Seven-Match Streak

The KwaZulu-Natal outfit remains unbeaten in their last seven league outings, racking up five draws and two victories. The Natal Rich Boys last tasted defeat in March during a rain-soaked encounter at Chatsworth Stadium.

Since that stumble, Richards Bay have steadied their away form, claiming a notable victory over TS Galaxy and securing a hard-fought draw against Marumo Gallants.

Why Must Richards Bay Beware of Magesi?

While Gabriel’s men sit comfortably in 11th place with 34 points, hosts Magesi are fighting for their absolute survival. The Limpopo-based side currently languishes at the bottom of the log with 21 points from 29 matches.

A victory for Magesi could spectacularly catapult them into the relegation playoff spot, provided Orbit College drops points against Orlando Pirates in a simultaneous Saturday kickoff. Despite the hosts’ desperation, Gabriel insists his team will offer zero favors.

“We are looking forward to finishing the season on a high against Magesi,” Gabriel told the official club website. “Our preparations remain on track. While we have a few injury concerns, we boast capable replacements within the squad to get the job done.”

Laying the Foundation for Next Season

For Richards Bay, the final match day represents more than just closing out the calendar; it is a vital psychological stepping stone for the future campaign.

What is Richards Bay’s Strategy for the Away Finale?

Gabriel views the trip to Polokwane as the perfect crucible to refine the club’s traveling record and blood the next generation of talent.

“This match offers an excellent opportunity to improve our away record and learn how to consistently win on the road,” Gabriel explained. “Securing a positive result will give us the foundational confidence we need away from home next season.”

The co-coach also highlighted the tactical shift toward youth integration for the final 90 minutes of the campaign.

“It is a fantastic platform for our youngsters to showcase their talent at the Seshego Stadium. Building their confidence now sets us up beautifully heading into the next pre-season. We want to end this campaign on a thoroughly positive note.”
