Milford FC Issues Urgent Scammer Warning

Milford FC has issued an urgent public statement warning that syndicates are exploiting the club’s recent success to run fraudulent employment and trial scams.
The security alert emerges just two weeks after “The Stallions” secured historic top-flight promotion to the Betway Premiership through the intense PSL promotion playoffs.
On Sunday, hundreds of teenage hopefuls aged between 16 and 19 converged on the Empangeni Rugby Club for the team’s debut DStv Diski Challenge trials, creating a high-demand environment that opportunistic scammers quickly targeted.
“It has come to the attention of Milford FC that certain individuals are falsely using the club’s name to ask for money from players, parents, and members of the public,” the club said on their website.
“Milford FC would like to make it clear that the club does not request payments from individuals for player registrations, trials, contracts, employment opportunities or any other club-related activities.
“We urge everyone to exercise caution regarding these kinds of scams.”
Management strongly urged the public to exercise maximum caution, explicitly stating that Milford FC will accept no liability for financial losses incurred through interactions with unauthorized operators.
“Milford FC will not be held responsible for any losses resulting from payments made to unauthorised individuals,” thr statement continued.
“We thank our supporters and the public for their cooperation in helping us protect the integrity of the club.”
Meanwhile, administrative focus across the top flight is intensifying.
The Premier Soccer League has officially confirmed that the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season will kick off on 1 August.
The high-stakes domestic calendar will shift into top gear just one week later with the commencement of the MTN8 quarterfinals.
