“Can’t Wait To Rumble”: Campbell On Joining KV Kortrijk
Bafana Bafana winger Shandre Campbell has delivered his first message to KV Kortrijk supporters following his transfer on Monday night, declaring he “can’t wait to rumble” in the Belgian Pro League.
Campbell joined Kortrijk from Belgian powerhouse Club Brugge, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract through June 2030.
The 21-year-old winger initially moved to Europe from SuperSport United in 2024, developing through Brugge’s youth side, Club NXT.
He went on to make 11 first-team appearances for the senior squad, highlighted by a memorable long-range strike against Zulte-Waregem.
“Hi fans, Shandre Campbell here,” Campbell told the club’s official channels. “I’m glad to be in this wonderful team. I can’t wait to start and see you all. Thank you so much.”
While leaving Brugge—the reigning Jupiler Pro League champions—might appear surprising on the surface, Campbell’s decision prioritizes regular first-team minutes over squad depth role at a club where attacking competition remains intense.
Campbell, who was part of South Africa’s squad during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, offered Kortrijk fans a breakdown of what he brings to the pitch.
“I’m a dynamic winger who likes to attack open space quickly and showcase my skills,” Campbell explained. “The stadium has a fantastic atmosphere—I love the energy and the fireworks. The pitch looks beautiful, and I can’t wait to get started in front of the fans.”
Campbell’s move highlights a growing trend of top South African talent carving out key roles in Belgium. He joins fellow Bafana international Relebohile Mofokeng, who recently completed a high-profile move from Orlando Pirates to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
