Mngqithi Assembles Full Backroom Bench
Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC has unveiled the full technical team for newly appointed head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
Mngqithi’s appointment was confirmed recently, but the club had yet to announce the backroom staff joining his project. The Tanzanian side has now confirmed several key additions to complete the technical bench ahead of the new season.
Performance analyst Yardaan Valodia joins the backroom staff following his previous spell at Golden Arrows, where he worked alongside Mngqithi during their top-eight Betway Premiership finish.
Joining him is former Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi, who previously served as Mngqithi’s assistant at Arrows. Reports indicate that “KG” is set to serve as the team’s dedicated set-piece coach.
Former AmaZulu coach Simo Dladla also joins Yanga as an assistant coach. Dladla parted ways with Usuthu towards the end of last season amid reported differences with Arthur Zwane.
Completing the technical bench is former Nigeria international Greg Etafia, who takes over as goalkeeper coach following his stint at TS Galaxy.
The new-look technical team takes charge of a Young Africans side that claimed the Tanzanian Premier League title last season and is now preparing for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League.
