Chiefs Secure First-Ever Tanzanian Player

Kaizer Chiefs has confirmed the signing of Tanzanian international Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko from Ligi Kuu Bara giants Azam FC for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder—who previously captained Azam—becomes the first player from Tanzania to sign for Amakhosi.
His arrival expands Chiefs’ historic footprint, making him the latest addition in a legacy of stars from over 20 African nations to wear the iconic Gold & Black jersey.
Bitegeko, who boasts five international caps for the Taifa Stars, brings valuable European experience to Naturena following previous spells in Iceland with KR Reykjavík, Keflavík ÍF, and Völsungur ÍF.
He becomes the Soweto giants’ third official signing of the current transfer window, joining new arrivals Renaldo Leaner and Thabo Moloisane as head coach Fernando da Cruz continues to rebuild his squad ahead of the new season.
