“No Tactical Sessions”: Siwelele FC Players Revolt Against Seema Amid Crisis

Sportswire has been reliably informed that Siwelele FC are in complete disarray, with players voicing major dissatisfaction over head coach Lehlohonolo Seema’s tactical approach and an alleged total absence of pre-match tactical sessions.

The Bloemfontein-based side sit second from the bottom of the table with just one point from their opening three matches, having suffered two defeats—including a 2–0 loss to AmaZulu this past weekend.

Siwelele occupy 15th place strictly via a superior goal difference over bottom-placed Marumo Gallants, who have recorded an identical start of two losses and a draw.

This is not the first time Seema’s opposition analysis has come under scrutiny. Similar criticisms surfaced during his tenure at Golden Arrows, leading to his dismissal in April 2022 following a crushing 6–0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria, where the team conceded four goals in the opening 35 minutes.

Despite subsequent coaching stints at Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United before taking charge at Siwelele, Seema has done little to dispel those lingering concerns.

He was appointed following Siwelele’s acquisition of SuperSport United’s top-flight PSL status ahead of the 2025/26 season in a deal reportedly valued at over R60 million.

While the team managed to avoid relegation late in their previous campaign, insiders suggest a grueling season lies ahead unless immediate structural adjustments are made.

“The head coach has lost the dressing room—that is the biggest issue,” an insider revealed.

“His tactics are essentially ‘kick and rush’, with zero focus on structured setup. Before games, there are no tactical preparation sessions. For a club that spent heavily to purchase top-flight status, it is alarming. The players are extremely frustrated with how poorly the training sessions are being run.”

Following the loss to AmaZulu, Seema maintained a defensive stance, insisting the team will turn their fortunes around once new signings are integrated into the squad.

The club endured a massive squad overhaul during the off-season, with 19 players departing. Key exits included Ghampani Lungu, Bohlale Ngwato, and Neo Rapoo to Orlando Pirates, Ricardo Goss returning to Mamelodi Sundowns, Gape Moralo moving to AmaZulu, and Nyiko Mobbie joining Sekhukhune United.

To plug those gaps, Siwelele brought in several additions, including Shadrack Kobedi from Golden Arrows, Thabiso Sesane and Selaelo Rasebotja from Orlando Pirates, Njabulo Ngcobo from Cape Town City, and Jaisen Clifford from Marumo Gallants.

“All the players who came in did very well,” said Seema.

“It is a matter; we are the only team that doesn’t have strikers to score goals. We don’t have the winger that will give you four goals. Who scored for us? It is Siphesihle Jeza and Vincent Pule. Other than that, there are no strikers.

“So, we can’t rely on midfielders to achieve our goals. But at the moment, because we haven’t got the players that we want, we are still waiting; there is nothing that we can do.

“But I’m happy with the squad that I have, and we will turn the corner.

“It has been a bad trip in eThekwini to lose six points [after going down prior to Milford FC]. It is bad for our supporters, but this team will turn the corner, that is for sure.”
