Kaze Warns Pirates: ‘I Have Seen What Other Teams Failed To Do’

Sekhukhune United coach Cedric Kaze has warned MTN8 semi-final rivals Orlando Pirates that he plans to take a different approach from the teams that have faced them this season.

Sekhukhune will host Pirates at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final.

The match will be the first of three consecutive meetings between the two sides over eight days. The fixtures will also include a Betway Premiership clash and the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final.

Kaze said he has seen how other teams have approached their matches against Pirates without success and believes his side will need to take a different approach to secure a positive result.

“As a coach, I prepare my team to play everywhere,” said Kaze.

“My team must be able to perform in any situation, on any field we play on. I wouldn’t give you my approach for Saturday because I will probably be selling my secrets too early. But let’s just say that I have seen how the other teams dealt with them without success. Let me just say that I want to go a different way.”

Kaze said his best performance in the clash would be a combination of lessons learned from previous matches.

“I would say, if I have to combine my best, I would say my first half against Kaizer Chiefs, my first half against Durban City, combined with my best defensive and offensive elements from the first half against Polokwane City,” Kaze said.

“Which means we need to find the right balance between how we want to attack and how we want to defend.”
