Agent Provides Update On Otladisa’s Future

Katlego Otladisa’s representative, Nimrod Mbhalati, has given an update on his client’s future, with the skillful winger having spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Sekhukhune United from Orlando Pirates.

The former Marumo Gallants star joined Babina Noko in the January transfer window, in search of game time, having struggled to command a regular place in the starting XI and matchday squad under Jose Riveiro, who has since left the Buccaneers for Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Before completing his loan move to the Limpopo outfit, Otladisa had only made the Pirates matchday squad once, in a 2-0 win over SuperSport United back in October last year, where he was an unused substitute.

At Sekhukhune, the 28-year-old attacker made 11 appearances across all competitions, while scoring two goals and providing a solitary assist. Interestingly, one of the goals came against his former side, Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, the arrival of Eric Tinkler, who succeeded Lehlohonolo Seema mid-March, saw Otladisa’s minutes diminish. The player was included in the matchday squad on two occasions in the nine matches the ex-Cape Town City mentor oversaw, as he was not in the squad for the last six games.

Now, with clubs already making moves in the market ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 season, the winger’s agent confirmed a return to the Mayfair club.

“He is going back to Pirates,” Mbhalati from Nida Sports Agency told Sportswire.

Otladisa has previously been linked with several top-flight teams, with Golden Arrows and Polokwane City mooted as potential admirers of his services. Moreover, his former employers, Gallants, were reportedly interested in a reunion in January.

It remains to be seen whether the player will be retained by the new technical team or seek greener pastures elsewhere, as his contract is set to expire in June 2026. He signed a three-year deal with the Sea Robbers from Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in July 2023.
