AmaZulu Announce Primo Sports As New Technical Sponsor

Primo Sports has been announced as AmaZulu’s new technical sponsor on Monday, with the partnership set to commence at the beginning of the next season.
Primo Sport will take over from Umbro, who have been Usuthu’s technical sponsor for seven years.
AmaZulu will become the second club to have their kits sponsored by Primo Sport, who also have a partnership with Magesi FC.
“After seven years with Umbro, we have amicably parted ways,” said AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu at the press conference on Monday.
“In choosing the successor from Umbro, we had to carefully choose the roots of the brand and how it will benefit AmaZulu supporters in terms of accessing the apparel. We have found a relationship that we believe is for the long term with the brand called Primo Sports.”
Magesi sported the Durban brand Primo Sports apparel when they achieved promotion to the PSL top-flight last season under the guidance of Durban-born coach Clinton Larsen.
History continued to be made under Larsen for Magesi while wearing Primo Sport, as they clinched the Carling Knockout Cup title by surprisingly defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final at Toyota Stadium in October, providing significant exposure for the brand.
Magesi, who were battling relegation this season, have since moved out of the drop zone under Larsen’s successor, Owen da Gama.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu currently occupy the sixth position in the Betway Premiership table with 34 points after 27 matches.
The club’s final game of the season will be against Orlando Pirates on 24 May at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, which will mark the last occasion Usuthu officially wear Umbro as their kit sponsor before being replaced by Primo Sport next season.
