Arrows Sign Three, More To Come

Sportswire has learned that Golden Arrows has already signed three players and expects to add more before the season begins.

The new additions to Arrows include Jerome Karelse from Mamelodi Sundowns, Malawian international Yankho Singo, and an unnamed midfielder from Kruger United.

Singo joins from Malawian giants Big Bullets, where he was under contract until 2028. Karelse, 23, made only one appearance for Sundowns during the 2023/24 season when Manqoba Mngqithi was the senior coach under Rulani Mokwena. Mngqithi departed Sundowns last December.

Sportswire has been informed that Arrows plans to sign a total of seven new players, having recently released close to ten. The players who recently left Arrows, as confirmed by Sportswire, are Ryan Moon, Kagiso Malinga, Sifiso Mlungwana, Nkosi Gumede, and Puleng Tlolane. Arrows had also previously parted ways with Thabani Zuke, who has since joined Richards Bay, and their all-time leading goal scorer, Knox Mutizwa.

Arrows’ increased activity in the transfer market comes after a challenging last season where they narrowly avoided the relegation zone, ultimately finishing 12th in the Betway Premiership with 31 points from 28 matches.

Coach Mngqithi, a highly experienced figure who led Arrows to an MTN8 title with a record score in 2009, has assured the club’s management that they will avoid the relegation battle next season, provided he is given the necessary resources to compete.
