Bafana Announces Final Squad For 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Tau Returns

Bafana Bafana has announced its final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin this month, featuring the return of Percy Tau.
Tau, who has had a strained relationship with the national team, has not played since June’s World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe. He serves as the national team’s vice-captain.
Additionally, Ronwen Williams has been recalled after missing several matches for his club, Mamelodi Sundowns, in recent weeks.
Bafana coach Hugo Broos has also included Lyle Foster, despite the player picking up an injury with his club, Burnley, a few days ago.
Jayden Adams also rejoins the squad after missing October’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following reports of misconduct before the camp.
Bafana will host Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 21 March 21, before travelling to Benin, with the match being played at a neutral venue in Ivory Coast on 25 March.
Coach Broos has stated his ambition to secure six points from these two matches and is hoping Nigeria will assist them by winning their respective games.
