Bay Bolster The Squad With Mtshali Signing

Richards Bay has finalized the signing of former Sekhukhune United midfielder Lindo Mtshali, Sportswire has learned.
Mtshali joins as a new acquisition alongside Thabani Zuke and Gabadinho Mhango. Zuke arrives from Golden Arrows, while Mhango, who also previously played for Arrows, has been signed from Marumo Gallants. All these players were revealed by Sportswire a few weeks ago.
Interestingly, these three players share a past connection. While all three have played for Golden Arrows, it was at different times.
Mtshali and Zuke were teammates at Abafana Bes’Thende, and Mtshali also played alongside Mhango at Moroka Swallows before leaving at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Mtshali’s Journey To Richards Bay
Richards Bay had been tracking Mtshali for some time, with interest dating back to the 2023/24 season when he was at Swallows. This move comes as no surprise, especially considering Swallows’ sale of its status to Gallants, which resulted in Mhango relocating to Bloemfontein with the club.
Mtshali, an Orlando Pirates academy graduate, joined Sekhukhune seeking more game time last season. However, he did not complete the past season there, requesting his clearance, which ultimately paved the way for his move to Richards Bay.
Memorable Moments For Mtshali
Mtshali will be remembered for his two crucial goals for Swallows in the 2022/23 season against Gallants in the final game of that term, a result that led to the Limpopo side’s relegation. Swallows’ victory in that match secured them a top-eight finish.
Mtshali also earned the final Goal of the Month award for his remarkable strike in May during the 2023/24 season for Swallows. His technical masterpiece from the edge of the area in Swallows’ win over Stellenbosch FC showcased his exceptional skill and earned him a well-deserved accolade, along with a R7,000 cash prize from then-league sponsors, DStv.
