Chiefs Aims High Against Orbit As PSL Title Ambitions Remain Alive

Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel is gunning for a win when his side takes on Orbit College at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening, as they continue their pursuit of the Betway Premiership title.
Amakhosi are coming off the back of a hard-fought victory against Durban City on Friday, and they are looking to build on that momentum against Orbit College.
According to Miguel, winning the league is their main objective, and they are working hard to achieve that.
“It’s PSL, it’s one of our targets, just the same as the CAF Confederation Cup,” Miguel said.
“We are coming from a win against a difficult team, Durban City, and we have another chance also to stay on top of the table against Orbit College.”
The Phefeni Glamour Boys are currently sitting in fourth position on the log standings with 19 points in 10 games, and they are looking to close the gap between them and the top-placed teams.
Miguel, who will miss the game against Mswenko Boys due to his suspension, added that they are working hard to achieve their goal and will give their best when they face Orbit College.
“We’re working hard for that, and we’ll give an answer when we face Orbit,” he said.
The last time Chiefs won the league was in the 2014/15 season under the guidance of Stuart Baxter, and the team is eager to repeat that success.
In the 2019/20 season, Amakhosi lost the league in the last game of the season to Mamelodi Sundowns when they played a disappointing 1-1 draw against Baroka.
Meanwhile, Chiefs have also been busy preparing for the Confederation Cup group stage, where they were drawn in Group D alongside Egyptian giants Al Masry and Zamalek, as well as Zambian team Zesco United on Monday.
Miguel reacted to the draw, saying that they are expecting tough games but are ready to work hard and give their best for the country.
“Of course, we’re expecting very difficult games and at this time, there’s no easy game because we’re in the middle of the best teams in Africa,” he said.
“So, we’re expecting to work hard and give our best for the country.”
The 2025 Nedbank Cup champions will play two games in the group stage of the Confederation Cup this year, starting with a trip to Egypt to face Al Masry on 23 November, followed by a home game against Zamalek on 30 November. With their sights set on both the PSL title and the Confederation Cup, Amakhosi are looking to make a strong statement in the upcoming games.
