Chiefs Confirm Pre-Season Tour To Spain
Kaizer Chiefs departed for Spain on Thursday evening to begin a 10-day pre-season training camp in Alicante.
Designed to prepare the squad for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign, the tour features a mix of intensive training sessions and competitive friendly matches against international opposition.
Stationed in the coastal city of Alicante, renowned for its Mediterranean climate, Amakhosi will utilize world-class facilities and warm European weather to build match fitness and squad cohesion.
As part of the tour, Chiefs will play three high-profile fixtures:
- Rangers FC (Scotland) – 12 July: The opening fixture against the Scottish giants will be played behind closed doors.
- Al Kholood (Saudi Pro League) – 15 July: Chiefs will then face the Saudi Arabian side in a match open to the public.
- Elche CF (Spain) – 18 July: The tour concludes with a clash against the Spanish club, which will also be open to supporters.
These fixtures will provide a stern test of readiness for Coach Fernando da Cruz’s squad, exposing the players to distinct playing styles and high levels of competition.
Following the Spanish tour, the Glamour Boys will return to South Africa to continue their preparations. Their first assignment back home will be a Toyota Cup clash against Zimbabwean side Scottland FC in Rustenburg on 26 July, offering one final competitive hurdle before the domestic season begins in earnest.
