Chiefs Revive Pursuit Of Free Agent Winger Velebhayi

Kaizer Chiefs are once again eyeing winger Asanele Velebhayi, who became a free agent after Cape Town Spurs’ relegation from the professional league to the Western Cape ABC Motsepe amateur League.
Amakhosi had previously attempted to sign Velebhayi before the 2024/25 season, but the deal fell through due to the Urban Warriors’ reluctance to sell.
Following Durban City’s win in a case involving their player Sazi Magawana, Spurs were relegated, making Velebhayi a free agent.
His representatives had been waiting for the outcome before exploring options for his future.
This week, they began engaging with interested teams, including Chiefs. The Soweto giants are keen on securing Velebhayi’s services, having failed to sign him this past season.
Several clubs have expressed interest in the talented young winger, but Chiefs are hopeful they can secure his signature.
The 22-year-old’s representatives are working to find the right opportunity for the young player, and a decision is expected soon.
With Velebhayi’s future to be decided in the coming days, Amakhosi are poised to revive their pursuit of the young winger.
The outcome will depend on negotiations between Velebhayi’s representatives and the club. If successful, Velebhayi’s signing would be a significant boost to Chiefs’ squad.
