Chiefs Sign Ex-Pirates Duo

Kaizer Chiefs has confirmed the signings of Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako, both of whom were recently released by Orlando Pirates.
Pirates parted ways with Monyane and Mako after their contracts were not renewed by the Soweto giants at the end of the past season.
Monyane and Mako become the fourth and fifth players, respectively, signed by Amakhosi in this current transfer window.
The 25-year-old Thabiso Monyane, a right-back, enjoyed significant success during his time at Pirates, winning the MTN8 four times and two Nedbank Cups.
He featured in 95 matches for the club, including 12 appearances this past season, contributing four goals and three assists.
In a statement, Chiefs announced: “Player Announcements! We are pleased to announce the signing of right-back Thabiso Monyane, previously with Orlando Pirates! He will don jersey #2. Welcome to the Family.”
Paseka Mako, 31, a left-wingback, joined Pirates from Chippa United ahead of the 2018/19 season. Like Monyane, he also boasts four MTN8 titles and two Nedbank Cups. Additionally, Mako was part of the squad that finished as league runners-up four times during his tenure with Pirates. He made 173 appearances, scoring two goals and providing eight assists.
Chiefs announced Mako’s signing via an X Space, stating: “We are pleased to announce the signing of left-wingback Paseka Mako, previously with Orlando Pirates. He will don jersey #29. Welcome to the Family.”
Both players are set to join the team for their pre-season camp in the Netherlands.
