Coca-Cola Launches 2026 ‘Be A Bok’ Campaign With Rassie Erasmus Voice Call-Up

Coca-Cola South Africa is offering rugby enthusiasts a rare, behind-the-scenes pass into the Springbok inner circle as its blockbuster The Coca-Cola® Fan Can Be a Bok campaign returns for the 2026 season.
This year, lucky winners will receive an official digital “call-up” from double World Cup-winning head coach Rassie Erasmus before stepping directly into a high-performance environment usually reserved strictly for national team players.
Built on Coca-Cola South Africa’s long-standing partnership with the South African Rugby Union (SARU), the 2026 campaign celebrates the fierce loyalty, match-day rituals, and pride of the Springbok faithful.
What is the Once-in-a-Lifetime Springbok “Call-Up” Experience?
The ultimate prize delivers an immersive, all-access look at a Springbok match day. The journey begins with a personalized voice note from head coach Rassie Erasmus, officially calling the winners up to join the national squad.
From there, winners and their chosen partners will live like elite athletes. The fully loaded itinerary includes:
- Overnight stays at the official Springbok team hotel.
- Exclusive access to the team’s Captain’s Run training session.
- Participation in the official team photo.
- Walking through the players’ tunnel to stand pitch-side during the national anthem.
- Watching the test match alongside non-playing squad members.
Coca-Cola will select one winner (plus a partner) for each of South Africa’s home test matches in 2026. Additionally, one grand prize winner will win a trip to France later this year to support the Springboks live on their European tour.
“Springbok rugby is more than a game in South Africa; it’s a shared national feeling,” said Mario I. Garcia, Vice President and Managing Director of Coca-Cola South Africa. “With this campaign, we are giving supporters the chance to experience the emotion, pride, and energy of the team from the inside.”
Which Players Feature on the 2026 Coca-Cola Collectible Cans?
The highly sought-after limited-edition Coca-Cola® Fan Can collection returns for 2026 with a groundbreaking update. For the very first time, the 20-player collectible lineup celebrates both the men’s and women’s national teams, highlighting the massive rise of women’s rugby in South Africa.
The collectible range features 15 Springbok Men and 5 Springbok Women stars. Each custom can displays the player’s face, name, and the precise date and location of their debut Springbok call-up.
Featured Players on the 2026 Cans:
- Siya Kolisi (Springbok Men’s Captain)
- Eben Etzebeth (Springbok Men)
- Babalwa Latsha (Springbok Women)
- Sinazo Mcatshulwa (Springbok Women)
- Lindelwa Gwala (Springbok Women)
In August, Coca-Cola will expand the collection by releasing a highly anticipated, special-edition Coach Rassie Erasmus can, honoring one of the most influential figures in South African rugby history.
How Can Fans Engage Digitally with the Campaign?
Coca-Cola is launching several digital and social media initiatives to bring South African rugby’s unique “gees” (spirit) to life online:
Meet the “Chief Gees Officer”
Coach Rassie Erasmus has officially appointed popular South African comedian and entertainer Donovan Goliath as the campaign’s “Chief Gees Officer.” Goliath will recruit and lead a dedicated squad of digital content creators to capture and share the campaign’s best moments throughout the international season.
“Shoot Your Shorts” Second-Screen Game
During live match broadcasts, fans can participate in “Shoot Your Shorts.” This interactive second-screen game focuses on the Coca-Cola logo featured on the Springbok match-day shorts, allowing supporters to win real-time prizes and rewards while watching the game.
A Nationwide Celebration of Rugby Culture
Beyond the digital space and the main stadium sweepstakes, Coca-Cola is bringing the stadium atmosphere to local communities. Fans can look forward to interactive stadium activations, VIP fan zones, and hybrid digital-physical (“phygital”) games at malls and retail centers across the country.
Supported by bottling partners Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) and Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages (CCPB), this nationwide rollout ensures that every rugby fan has a chance to be part of the Springbok story in 2026.
